WildStar Indie Signal

WildStar Gaming Indie Signal

Independent games gaining momentum right now.

The Indie Signal is WildStar Gaming’s weekly data-led chart for independently owned games. It combines storefront strength, week-on-week momentum and cross-platform reach into one score out of 100. It is not a WildStar opinion ranking.

Indie Signal Top 10

Week 1 is the first comparison against the Pilot 0 baseline. Where Pilot 0 preserved a trustworthy previous storefront rank, momentum is calculated from that movement. For new entries without a reliable prior rank, momentum remains neutral at 15/30 rather than inventing a comparison.

What this week tells us

New leader

Dressmaker

Steam UK #3 pushes Dressmaker from Pilot #10 to the top of Indie Signal with 66.7.

Still strong

WARDOGS

WARDOGS remains near the top at #2. It sits at Steam UK #4, only three places below its Pilot best.

Big turnover

Pilot leaders fall away

Halloween: The Game and The Blood of Dawnwalker both slide outside the Top 10 as a wave of new charting indies arrives.

How the Indie Signal works

01

Snapshot

Capture a fixed weekly Top 30 from the tracked platform/storefront charts.

02

Score

Convert the strongest verified storefront position into up to 50 points.

03

Compare

Compare with the previous Sunday snapshot to identify genuine movement.

04

Publish

Rank the Top 10 and review eligible titles outside the chart for Signal Boost.

Signal Score methodology

Storefront Strength

50 pts

Rewards a game’s strongest verified position across the tracked Top 30 storefront charts. #1 receives the maximum 50 points.

Momentum

30 pts

Measures movement against the previous fixed weekly snapshot. Pilot 0 used a neutral 15 points. New entries without a trustworthy Pilot rank remain neutral this week rather than using an invented baseline.

Cross-platform Reach

20 pts

Awards 5 points for each tracked platform family where the title has a verified current Top 30 presence: PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 count as one family, using the better All Games position.

Maximum

100

The Signal Score measures current market signal, not game quality and not a review score.

What counts as indie?

Indie Signal uses ownership, not team size, as its starting point. An eligible game may have a publisher, a sizeable development team, a licensed property or a substantial budget. WildStar does not give smaller teams bonus points and does not penalise an independent studio for becoming successful. Eligibility is reviewed when ownership or publishing structures are unclear.

Signal Boost

No Signal Boost is awarded this week. Pilot 0 did not preserve the complete candidate pool, so there is no trustworthy week-on-week comparison for every eligible title outside the Top 10. The full candidate snapshot is being retained from this edition onward, allowing Signal Boost to begin properly next week.

Source snapshot

Captured for the 4 October 2026 edition. Steam UK and Xbox UK were taken from their live charts. PlayStation uses the current UK store ranking. Nintendo uses the latest published All Games eShop charts for Switch and Switch 2.

Steam UK Top Sellers  •  Xbox UK Most Played  •  PlayStation UK ranking source  •  Nintendo Switch  •  Nintendo Switch 2

Methodology note: The Indie Signal is a WildStar Gaming data project built from published storefront/platform rankings and independently tracked ranking data captured at a fixed weekly point. Store rankings can change throughout the day, so the fixed snapshot is used to keep weekly comparisons consistent. The chart is not a review score, sales chart or WildStar editorial ranking. Pilot methodology may be refined if repeated testing exposes a structural bias; any material change will be documented on this page.
