FIFINE AmpliGame AM8T Review – A Brilliant Creator Mic Without the Premium Price

Written by Andy B • WildStar Gaming

The FIFINE AmpliGame AM8T is not a microphone we pulled out of a box for an afternoon and then put back on a shelf. It is part of the WildStar Gaming podcast setup, with both Andy and James using the AM8T for The Gamers Podcast. That makes this a review based on regular, real-world use rather than a quick first impression.

FIFINE AmpliGame AM8T USB XLR dynamic microphone with boom arm

WildStar Score: 85/100

Gold • A strong, flexible microphone kit that has become part of our regular podcast workflow.

A microphone that makes sense for creators

The AM8T is a dynamic cardioid microphone supplied with a boom arm, and its biggest strength is how little fuss it needs to become useful. USB-C gives you a straightforward plug-and-play route, while XLR means the microphone can remain part of your setup if you later move to a dedicated audio interface or mixer.

In USB mode you also get onboard gain control, headphone monitoring, a tap-to-mute control and RGB lighting. FIFINE lists a 50Hz–16kHz frequency response, a signal-to-noise ratio above 80dB and a maximum SPL of 120dB. The microphone uses a cardioid pickup pattern, which is particularly useful when you are recording at a desk and want the focus kept on the person speaking rather than everything happening around them.

How it performs for WildStar

For podcasting, the AM8T has been a very good fit. Both Andy and James use the same model, which gives us a consistent starting point across two different recording setups. Voices come through clearly, the microphone is easy to position on the supplied arm and the physical controls mean basic adjustments do not require digging through software.

That simplicity matters. Podcast hardware does not need to become another hobby in its own right. We want something that can be positioned, checked and then largely forgotten about while we concentrate on the conversation. The AM8T does that well.

The dynamic capsule also suits a normal home or gaming environment better than a microphone that wants to hear every click, fan and movement in the room. You still need sensible positioning and gain levels, but the AM8T gives you a forgiving foundation without requiring a treated studio.

USB now, XLR later

The USB/XLR combination is one of the strongest reasons to recommend the AM8T. A first-time creator can use USB immediately, while the XLR connection gives the microphone somewhere to go as a setup becomes more serious.

There are compromises. FIFINE does not include an XLR cable with the kit, and the RGB lighting and onboard function controls are not active when using XLR. Those are not deal-breakers, but they are worth knowing before you plan a future upgrade path.

The boom arm kit matters

We specifically use the AM8T kit with the boom arm rather than the microphone alone. For podcasting, getting the microphone off the desk and into a repeatable position is a meaningful improvement. It keeps the desk clearer, makes positioning easier and gives the whole setup a more practical feel.

Verdict

The FIFINE AM8T gets the fundamentals right. It is easy to start with, flexible enough to grow with a creator and good enough that two members of the WildStar team use it every week rather than treating it as temporary starter hardware.

There are more expensive microphones and more elaborate creator setups, but the AM8T sits in a very useful middle ground: accessible, capable and practical without demanding that you build your entire desk around it.

WildStar Gaming score: 85/100.
