So in the spirit of honesty

I have to say, I do not usually play this type of game, I am generally speaking not a fan of rogueIite games. I can see the appeal they have for people, but I have just always found that they are not for me.

Asgard’s Fall reminds me a lot of the game Vampire survivors and I know that was a huge game when it came out and loads of people have thoroughly enjoyed it. I can say for sure that if you are a fan of this genre then I’m sure Asgard’s fall will scratch that itch if you have been wanting to try something along the same lines.

All of that being said

I ran into a slight issue whilst playing Asgard’s Fall. I found myself thinking I’ll just try one more time, and then another, and another. That added up to really rather a lot of times! I think it’s safe to say that this game is very addictive. Even for someone like me that doesn’t usually like this genre, I just kept playing! The gameplay loop is incredibly engaging and working my way through the levels, gearing up and picking up buffs as I went was very satisfying. I found the lightning build to be particularly effective and had a real blast when using it.

Asgard’s Fall gives you four playable characters all with different styles of play. Three of these are unlocked through gameplay. You have skill trees to work on as well as a system called warpaints which can add to more depth to the character building side of the game, this leads to a lot of choice in the style of character you choose to build.

What really surprised me

Was how much I found myself going back to attempt to beat the bosses. Now this could be lack of experience in roguelite games and maybe this is the normal way that this genre does things. It could also be that this was just a skill issue, (let’s face it this is probably the case…) But I found them to be a real challenge.

From the technical side, I have to say I ran into no gameplay issues. Asgard’s Fall runs smoothly and I didn’t come across any noticeable bugs during my play time.

As I previously stated, these types of games are generally not for me. But I can honestly say i had fun with Asgard’s Fall and even now I find myself turning it on to have have a few goes. If you are a fan of this genre then I would 100% recommend giving Asgard’s Fall a go. As a bonus, at the time of writing this article the game is currently 50% off on steam, this offer is due to last until the 23rd of September 2026! So give it a go even if you’re like me and not really into roguelites. I can honestly say I’m pleasantly enjoying myself with it. it ‘s very fun!
