BattleBrew Productions and Red Dunes Games are showcasing Hellheart Breaker at Tokyo Game Show, giving attendees another look at the colourful genre-blending adventure ahead of its planned 2027 release on PC and consoles.
From the team behind Cuisineer, Hellheart Breaker combines action, dungeon crawling, roguelite gameplay and dating-sim elements within an Asian-inspired Underworld filled with vibrant characters, monsters and plenty of neon.
Players awaken with no memory of who they are inside a forgotten room within a bathhouse, before finding themselves in Aashraya, described as the last remaining city in the Underworld. With an ominous prophecy hanging over them, players will have to uncover their identity while deciding what role they will play in Aashraya’s future.

One of the more unusual elements of Hellheart Breaker is the way its romance system feeds directly into its gameplay. Players can build relationships with different Clan Scions, gaining access to their abilities and elemental powers. Rejecting them, however, can result in those same characters becoming formidable bosses later in the adventure.
Choices are set to play an important role throughout the game. Hellheart Breaker features seven clans, each with its own agenda, alongside seven worlds to explore and multiple possible endings. The developers currently have nine endings planned.
Combat will offer 35 weapons, including the jian and katar, alongside seven elemental skill trees and augments that allow players to modify their abilities. Procedurally generated roguelite gameplay will sit alongside more relaxed activities including fishing, home decoration and food-related activities at the Kappa Market.

Players will also encounter a varied cast throughout Aashraya, including a Naga princess, Oni blacksmith, Kitsune courtesan and Asuran enforcer, with relationships potentially developing into friendships, rivalries or something more.
Following an appearance at Gamescom, Hellheart Breaker is now being showcased by Red Dunes Games at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where the publisher is presenting a selection of its upcoming titles.
Hellheart Breaker is currently planned for release on PC and consoles in 2027.
