Blades of Mirage Brings Southeast Asian-Inspired Action to Tokyo Game Show 2026

Blades of Mirage is heading to Tokyo Game Show 2026, with developer Agate and publisher Red Dunes Games confirming that the upcoming action RPG will be playable at this year’s event.

Visitors will be able to get hands-on with the game at Hall 7, Booth N03, as part of a showcase featuring a selection of upcoming titles.

Blades of Mirage follows Mira as she ventures into the ancient realm of Brightlands, where six guardians who once protected the world have begun abandoning their duties. Her journey will see her confront corrupted guardians, uncover mysteries and venture beyond the safety of her village to discover more about her own past.

Gameplay combines fast-paced combat, puzzle-focused exploration and light RPG mechanics. Boss encounters are designed around learning enemy attack patterns and making strategic use of Mira’s runes and abilities, while new powers will also open previously inaccessible areas of the world.

The developers are currently targeting around eight hours of gameplay, with an emphasis on varied encounters, exploration and discovery.

The game takes inspiration from titles including Death’s Door, Tunic and Bastion, while its setting and visual identity draw heavily from Southeast Asian culture.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 will mark the event’s 30th anniversary, and Blades of Mirage will feature among its selection of upcoming and independent games.
