Fate/EXTRA Record has officially locked in its release date, with Aniplex confirming the RPG will launch on January 28, 2027 for Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
A new trailer has also been released, giving players another look at the completely recreated version of 2010’s Fate/EXTRA, the first RPG in the Fate series.
Rather than a straightforward remaster, Fate/EXTRA Record has been rebuilt for modern platforms with new story content, redesigned characters and an updated deck-building command battle system.
The story takes place within SE.RA.PH, a virtual world constructed on the Moon, where 128 Masters compete alongside their Servants in a deadly Holy Grail War. Players take the role of an amnesiac student who must survive a seven-round tournament while uncovering the truth behind their identity.
The game will be available in several editions, including Standard, Limited and Digital Deluxe versions, with physical pre-orders now beginning at participating retailers.
A special Fate/EXTRA Record programme featuring voice actors Atsushi Abe and Yui Ishikawa is also set to provide a closer look at the game.
