Bellwright is getting ready to saddle up, with Donkey Crew and Snail Games USA giving players another look at the game’s upcoming horse traversal system.
Shown in the latest Gamescom 2026 trailer, the new footage puts horses front and centre as players ride across Bellwright’s sprawling medieval world.
Mounted traversal has previously been teased as part of the game’s ongoing development, but the latest footage gives us a much better idea of how horses will change exploration. Whether travelling across long stretches of wilderness or moving between settlements, horseback travel should make getting around the kingdom considerably quicker.
The addition also feels like a natural fit for Bellwright’s large open world, where exploration, settlement building, combat and expanding your influence all play a major role.
Developer Donkey Crew has yet to detail exactly when players will be able to get their hands on the mounted traversal feature, but the new trailer suggests development is moving along.
