Razer has expanded its competitive gaming keyboard range with the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz, a compact 60% model designed for esports players. Announced on 1 October 2026, the keyboard combines second-generation analog optical switches with 8000 Hz HyperPolling, adjustable actuation and a suite of advanced input controls.
The Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz is available now through Razer and selected retailers, with a UK recommended price of £179.99.
8000 Hz polling in a 60% layout
Razer says the new model offers an 8000 Hz polling rate, eight times the conventional 1000 Hz rate. In Razer’s own testing it recorded an average latency of 0.48 milliseconds, although that figure and its comparison with competing keyboards have not been independently verified by WildStar Gaming.
Its Gen-2 analog optical switches offer an adjustable actuation range of 0.1 to 4.0 mm and Rapid Trigger, which allows a key to reset dynamically as it is released. Razer rates the switches for 100 million keystrokes.
Snap Tap, Snap Flex and more
The Mini 8KHz includes Razer Snap Flex, Snap Tap, Dynamic Keystroke and Dual-Keypress Priority. These functions are intended to give competitive players finer control over how key presses are registered, particularly during rapid changes of direction or complex inputs. Whether specific input-assistance features are permitted can depend on a game’s tournament rules.
Players can change actuation and Rapid Trigger sensitivity using the keyboard’s own controls, with up to six profiles saved directly to onboard storage. Synapse Web also offers browser-based settings without requiring a conventional desktop software installation.
Built for tournament desks
The 60% layout sacrifices the dedicated number pad and function row to leave more room for mouse movement. Razer uses a 5052 aluminium alloy top case, doubleshot PBT keycaps and multifunction modifier keys that can serve as directional controls.
That compact format should appeal to players prioritising desk space or portability, although gamers who depend on dedicated arrow keys and other full-size controls may prefer a larger layout.
